The Equality Law Clinic also collaborated with the First Nations Child and Family Caring Society of Canada to submit a report to the Human Rights Committee. The report asks the Committee to implore Canada to fully implement the Spirit Bear plan and Shannen’s Dream. You can find the report here.
The Equality Law Clinic represented the Alliance for Equality for Blind Canadians in its applications for judicial review before the Federal Court of Canada. The AEBC challenged a decision of the Canadian Human Rights Commission to dismiss its complaint regarding inaccessible government websites. In particular, the complaint alleged that Canada discriminated against blind Canadians by creating a funding application for disability organisations that was not accessible to blind individuals. Ce dossier est en anglais.
